Dear Madam, dear Sir,
I was shocked to read that you are using skin and fur in items such as coats, tunics, dresses, shoes, vests, jackets, handbags, pillows, and even lamp shades By doing this you are providing the Canadian government and sealers with an economic incentive to continue the hunt.
Though the use of seal fur and skin is banned in the United States, you use seal products in your European and international collections.
There is nothing fashionable or elegant about how animals are killed in the fur industry. You seem to believe that you can't do business without fur, this symbol of ridiculous vanity, based on sheer animal abuse and misery? Please, look at other big department stores like Harvey Nichols, Liberty, Selfridges... They took the right decision and stopped the sale of real animal fur, and they are just doing fine.
It's a pity that up till now, you didn't follow their example. Do you want to be a fashion designer without a grain of ethical awareness? I can't imagine that you are willingly tarnishing your image.
I sincerely hope that you will rethink the matter seriously. I really hope that you will very soon show some compassion towards animals by ending the use of seal fur (or other animal fur).
Thanking you in advance and awaiting your early good news,
Sincerely,
‘Killing a animal to make a coat is sin. It wasn’t meant to be, and we have no right to do it. A women gains status when she refuses to see anything killed put on heir back. She’s truly beautiful’ – Doris Day |
